Brookville Police Department
“Courage, Service and Integrity”
Proudly serving the Incorporated Villages of Brookville, Cove Neck, Matinecock and Mill Neck.
WE, the members of the Brookville Police Department, are committed to providing ethical, quality, and responsive service to the community with pride and professionalism. WE are committed to improving the quality of life for those we serve by delivering the highest standard of police services.
In an every-changing world, core values are constant, they are fundamental beliefs of a person. Core values are not descriptions of the work we do or the strategies we employ to accomplish our mission. These values underlie our work, how we interact with each other and members of our community and form the basis of our decision-making. These three beliefs and values guide and inspire us in all we say and do; we will continually internalize and model these core values:
Courage is more than running toward gunshots while everyone else runs away from them — and it is more than checking out a dark building on an even-darker night. Yes, courage is physical bravery, but courage is about developing character and the courage it takes to act on one’s core values – respect for life, treating others with dignity and respect, making fair decisions, being honest, and ascribing at all times to the rule of law.
We value the opportunity to provide service that is courteous, responsive, firm, efficient, and fair. We regard the members of our community as partners and indispensable resources in a combined policing effort. Respect for the individual worth, dignity, and rights of all those we serve is the foundation of our department.
We value and expect truth, honesty, and ethical behavior from the members of our organization. We are committed to upholding our position of public trust by maintaining the highest ethical standards and the utmost respect for the ordinances and laws of our villages, state, and nation. Our role as peacekeepers and officers of the law will not be compromised.
